Please fill the in-app data request form by clicking on the specific real event in menu/event history.

Every request for disclosure of User Provided and Automatically Collected Information is processed by the CrowdGuard Committee on Data Requests, and only granted if the request is found to be lawful, purposeful, and proportionate. If CrowdGuard decides to disclose personal User Provided and Automatically Collected Information due to a request from a user, all affected users will be notified via email, unless an exemption in the Swiss Federal Law on Data Protection forbids us to do so.

These operational guidelines are for law enforcement officials seeking records from CrowdGuard International Association. This information may change at any time.

What is CrowdGuard and what records do we have?

CrowdGuard is educating and connecting helpers and persons under attack to fight sexual and gender based violence. CrowdGuard is not a security company, and does not employ security staff. Helpers connected through CrowdGuard are not professionals, but regular citizens who pledge to help each other in case of an assault. CrowdGuard users can request and provide help via their smart phone.

We store and maintain information as described in our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.

What type of legal process does CrowdGuard require before producing user information?

We disclose user and event-related information only in accordance with our Terms of Service and applicable law, including the Swiss Federal Law on Data Protection (DSG, SR 235.1) and the corresponding Ordinance. A valid Swiss court order (via mutual legal assistance treaty, mutual legal assistance agreement, or letter rotatory) may be required to compel disclosure of certain records.

We accept requests by law enforcement via email to ccdr [at] crowdguard.org or via personal service to the following address: CrowdGuard International Association, Viaduktstrasse 93-95, 8005 Zürich, Switzerland. Our acceptance of legal process does not waive any legal objections CrowdGuard may have and may raise in response to the request.

To respond to a request, we will need the name of the issuing authority, badge/ID number of the responsible agent, a valid return email address from a law enforcement domain, a direct contact phone number, and detailed information about
-a sufficiently narrow/defined time period
-a specific reference identifying the subject (username, real name, phone number, email address)
-a specific event or action that the subject took and its relationship to your investigation

Every request for disclosure of User Provided and Automatically Collected Information is processed by the CrowdGuard Committee on Data Requests, and only granted if the request is found to be lawful, purposeful, and proportionate.

If CrowdGuard decides to disclose personal User Provided and Automatically Collected Information due to a request from law-enforcement agencies, all affected users will be notified via email, unless an exemption in the Swiss data law forbids us to do so.

Importance note: We will not review or respond to messages sent to ccdr [at] crowdguard.org by non-law enforcement officials. Users aware of an emergency situation should immediately and directly contact local law enforcement officials.
